Jet Grouting was be extensively used on the project to provide ground stabilization and groundwater control during the excavation of stations, cross-passages and at the break-in zone of TBM launch shaft. Jet grouting was be performed at the following locations: Oakwood Station (West, Middle and East Headwalls); Bathurst Station (West and East Headwalls Cross Passage 7); Chaplin Station (West and East Headwalls Cross Passage 8); Avenue Station (West and East Headwalls Cross Passage 9); Extraction Shaft ES-2 (TBM Break-in Zone); Caledonia Station (Field Test).
All jet grouting treatments on the Project were installed using a triple-fluid technology (air, water and grout), using a bottom-up installation procedure. Column diameter Ø2400mm. Complete works has required approximately 800 PS3 Jet Grouting columns with perforations up to a depth of 30 m. Continuous monitoring of Jet Grouting parameters using PRS3 real time data collection system and vertical measurement at each grout column were provided as well as preliminary extensive verification and field test.
